A pair of second place finishes were the results for the Alliance Middle School track squads on Tuesday in a meet held at Bulldog Stadium. Top scoring honors went to the seventh grade girl’s club who tallied 114 which was good for second behind Chadron, who ended with 150 points. AMS was also the runner up for the 8th grade boy’s level. With 137, Chadron was first for the eighth grade boys while the Bulldogs were second with 92. Six school participated in the event. Alliance was third in the 8th grade girl’s race, finishing with 58. Chadron was the winner with 217 while St. Agnes was second with 77 tallies. The Cards completed the sweep by winning in the 7th grade boy’s level. Chadron scored 142 points with SA second at 93. AMS had 50 points which was good for 4th.
Leading the way for the Lady Bulldogs was 7th grader Audrey Marentes who was first in the 200. Marantes was also a member of the first place 400 relay who clocked in 57.3. Other members of the victorious relay were: Bristol Knapp, Kinley Bellisle, and Joslinn Merrill. Also striking gold on the seventh grade side was thrower Ayla Walker who won the discus with a toss of 62’0. AMS had a pair of champs on their boy’s group. Winning the 7th grade 800 was Ethan Crowell with a time of 2:31. 8th grader Angus Moeller won the mile with a time of 6:09.
