Three Golds by Galles lead Bobcats at Meet in Kimball

Kimball hosted their annual Junior High track meet on Thursday with nine schools taking the track. Mitchell was first in both boys and girl’s division. The Tiger boy’s club scored 143 points with Hemingford second at 108. On the girl’s level, it was the Lady Tigers netting 113 points in winning the team title. Pine Bluffs was second with 75. The Lady Cats of Hemingford scored 54 which was good for sixth overall.

Eighth grader Cooper Galles was the Bobcats top scorer. Galles was first in both the 100 and 200 hurdle races and was a member of the victorious 400 relay team. Joining Galles in the relay were: Zane Frost, Rye Jespersen, and Silas Lilley-Stone. Frost also claimed the gold in the 800 while Jespersen was first in the discus. For the Lady Cats, Hemingford got a first place performance from 8th grade Atlee Gasseling who won the 200 hurdles.

On Tuesday, many of the Cats will compete in the Best of the West meet in Scottsbluff. Hemingford will then go to Morrill on Friday for the Pan Handle Conference meet.
