On Saturday, the Alliance Aces took on the Gering Top Dawgs. Strong pitching by Gering led the Dawgs to a 17 to 0 win. King Lopez had the lone hit for Alliance. Iric Johnson and Lopez threw for the Aces. Gering scored 8 times in the second in posting the victory.
Gering batted first and put 2 on the board while the Aces were held scoreless. Inning #2 had the Dawgs pull away. Gering scored 8 to take a 10 to 0 lead. Alliance’s bats were silence in the home half and the contest went to the third with the Aces down 10 to 0.
Three hits including a triple in the top of the third helped the Top Dawgs increase their advantage to 12 to 0. Five more tallies in the fourth put the Alliance deficit at 17. Lopez would single in the Aces’ last at bat.
