Game 2 of a doubleheader featuring the Alliance Blue Sox and Gering was a close one until the final inning. Gering scored 7 times in their last at bat and defeated the Peltz Co 15 to 6. Alliance also dropped the opener in action on Tuesday. Leading the offense for the Sox was Canton Devlin who had 2 of Alliance’s 6 hits. Devlin, Von Krejci, and Eugenio Lopez pitched in the contest which was played in Gering.
Using a couple of hits, the Dawgs scored 4 times in their top of the first to take the early lead. Alliance went in order in the bottom of the frame. Gering extended their margin with 3 tallies in the second. Down 7 to 0, the Peltz Co sliced their deficit with 2 scores in their attempt. Knocks by Devlin, Zeke Dean, and Parks Sylvester along with an rbi groundout by Lopez made it a 7 to 2 game after two innings of play.
Both teams scored once in the third. The Sox got a walk by Grady Mulhern and a wild pitch to get within 5 at 8 to 3. Gering came back with 7 in the top of the fourth. Down 15 to 3 in their last at bat, the Peltz Co rallied for 3 runs. Hits by Bodee Barber and Marshall Moseman set the table for Devlin whose 2 run double made it 15 to 5.
