Sox Snag Sixth Win With Big Victory Over Dawgs

Back in action on Saturday were the Peltz Co Blue Sox. Alliance took down the Gering Diamond Dawgs 17 to 5 for their sixth win on the season. Marshall Moseman keyed the victory with 3 of Alliance’s 10 hits. On the hill for the Sox were starter Eugenio Lopez and reliever Vonn Krejci.

Alliance shined on both ends in the first. Hits by Moseman and Canton Devlin helped the Sox take a three run lead. On defense, catcher Zeke Dean gunned a Gering base runner. In the second, the Peltz Co failed to score while the Diamond Dawgs put one on the board. Alliance led 3 to 1 heading to the third.

Big knocks by Moseman and Lopez in the top of the third gave the Peltz Co a nice cushion. Moseman had a 2 run double. Dean added an RBI groundout as the Sox went up 7 to 1. A double later in the frame by Lopez put the score at 8 to 1. The Diamond Dawgs scored twice in the bottom of the inning and the contest went to the fourth with the Blue Sox in control at 8 to 3.

Any hopes of a Gering comeback were denied in the top of the finale. Alliance scored 9 times to go up 17 to 3. Six hits in the frame by the Sox keyed the scoring. The Peltz Co added to their advantage thanks to knocks by Cameron Walker, Krejci, Levi Escamilla, Moseman, Devlin, and Dean to surge ahead by fourteen. Gering scored twice in their last at bat but it wasn’t enough. Final Alliance 17. Gering 5
