Alliance and Buckley put on quite an offensive show on Sunday. They combined for 29 runs on 22 hits. And in the end it was the Bombers getting the win over the Spartans 16 to 13. Alliance fell behind by 11 early in the contest and was never able to recover. With the loss, the Peltz Co now has a 12 and 10 record. The highlight of the game for the Juniors came in the fourth when Carson Stull slugged a three run homer. Tanner Salcido led the O for the Peltz Co, ending with the three hits. Pitching for the hosts was starter Jackson Devlin along with relief hurlers Casyn Rodriguez, Jayden Garcia, and Quinn Ferguson.
Bats for Buckley were hot from the start. The Bombers put 7 in the book in the top of the first to grab a nice advantage. In the home half, the Peltz Co went down in order. Four more Bomber tallies in the second put the Spartan deficit at 11 to 0. Alliance would rally. Hits by Salcido and Israel Garcia began the comeback. A wild pitch plus an RBI walk by Jayden Garcia got the Juniors on the board. The scoring can to a close with a 3 run triple off the bat of Jace Jensen. After 2 frames, the Spartans trailed 11 to 7.
Five more scores by Buckley in the top of inning three extended their margin. The Peltz Co got 2 back behind hits from Logan Freiberger, Jackson Shelmadine, and Teagan O’Gorman. The scoreboard read Bombers 16 Spartans 9 after three innings of action.
Frame 4 had the guests go scoreless while the Juniors scored three times. Israel Garcia reached after being hit by a pitch and advanced after another hit by Jensen. This brought up Stull whose three run blast closed the gap to 16 to 12. Jayden Garcia also singled in the inning but was left on the bases. In the top, the visitors failed to score. Alliance had one last chance. Hits by Fletcher Moseman and Salcido gave the Peltz Co hope. An error by the Bombers followed which allowed another tally but it was as close as the Spartans would get.
