Panhandle Gets Revenge With 11 to 0 Win Over Blue Sox

Semi final action of the Sidney tournament on Sunday was a rematch featuring Alliance and Panhandle Storm. Alliance bested the Storm on Saturday but found the going tough in their second meeting. The Storm blanked the Sox 11 to 0 to advance to the championship game. Alliance was limited to just 2 hits for the game while the Storm used a 7 run second inning in getting the win. Tossing for the Peltz Co was starter Marshall Moseman along with relievers Zeke Dean and Slade Harris.

Moseman shined on both sides in the first, keeping the Storm off the board while recording a hit in the bottom of the frame. He was left on the bases and the contest went to the second scoreless. PH was nearly unstoppable in inning two with 7 tallies. Using a couple of hits and walks along with a few errors by the Peltz Co, Panhandle surged ahead 7 to 0. Alliance failed to score in the home half and the contest went the third with the Sox behind by 7.

Two more Storm tallies in the top of inning #3 put the Sox deficit at 9. Bodee Barber singled for the Peltz Co in the bottom of the frame but didn’t score. Both teams went scoreless in the fourth while the Storm added 2 more in their last at bat in the fifth. In the home half, the Blue Sox went down quietly as the Storm got the win 11 to 0.
