Walk Off Hit by Gallas Leads Preps Over Security First

Spartan Cooper Gallas singled in the game winning run on Saturday in a Prep win over Gordon 7 to 6. Down 6 to 5 in the bottom on the seventh, the Peltz Co tallied 2 runs in getting the win. The Preps ended with 8 hits and were led by Dixon Bair who finished with 3 knocks. Branden Myers was the Alliance starter and was relieved by Bair, Roy Torres, and Tee Johnson.

Alliance took the early advantage by holding the Regulators scoreless in the opening inning and plating 2 runs in the home half. The Spartans got a hit by Jace Jensen, a wild pitch, and a sacrifice fly by Esai Trejo to surge ahead 2 to 0. Security First then put their big inning together in the top of the second. The visitors scored 5 times on 4 hits and a couple of walks. Alliance got one back in the bottom of the inning on a walk and a Gordon error. Heading to the third, the Spartans were down 5 to 3.

Both clubs failed to score in their at bats in inning #3. Alliance received hits by Bair and Silas Lilley-Stone but both runners were stranded. The contest became tied after the fourth. Gordon was denied any runs while the Preps got 2. Alliance loaded the sacks after a Gallas walk, a Myer hit by pitch, and a Torres single. Bair then knotted the battle at five with a 2 run double. With 4 frames in the book, the score was tied at five all.

Inning #5 was a scoreless one but the Regulators surge ahead in the sixth with one tally. A walk and a double put the Spartans deficit at one. Alliance had no luck in the bottom of the inning and were down 6 to 5 heading into the seventh. After a no run finale by Gordon in the top of the last inning, Alliance began their comeback. The Peltz Co got a double by Torres to start the rally. A single by Bair was next and an intentional walk loaded the bags for Trejo whose sac fly tied the game at 6. After another intentional walk, Gallas ended the affair with a hit. Final Alliance 7 Gordon 6
