Sixers Silence Spartans

Cheyenne Post 6 downed the Alliance Seniors 11 to 1 in action on Saturday. Using a 5 run sixth inning, the hosts cruised to the win. The Peltz Co was held to just three hits in the affair. Pitching for the Spartans were starter Braeden Clarke and Lexton Salcido.

Alliance’s bats were cold in the top of the first while the Sixers scored once in their at bat. Control of the game stayed with Cheyenne in the second. The Peltz Co went scoreless in the top. Post 6 added to their advantage with 3 more tallies. Heading to the third, the Seniors were down 4 to 0.

Solid play from the Sixers continued in inning three. Alliance got a hit from Carver Nemnich but a double play twisted by the hosts kept the lead at 4. Cheyenne scored once in the home half to go up 5 to 0. Alliance broke thru in the top of the fourth. The Peltz Co received a knock by Tony Escamilla to start a mini rally. Escamilla eventually scored on a wild pitch as the Spartans pulled within 4 at 5 to 1. Post 6 answered back with one in the bottom of the frame and the affair went to the fifth with the Seniors trailing 6 to 1. Alliance did turn a twin killing in the inning.

No runs were tallied in the fifth. In the finale, Spartan Espen Lanik had a hit but was stranded. Cheyenne concluded play in the last of the sixth. The Sixers plated 5 runs. Final Post 6. 11. Peltz Co 1
