Alliance held Gordon scoreless in three of four innings in their contest on Saturday. Unfortunately, for the Prep squad, Security First plated 12 runs in the third to down the Spartans 12 to 8. Alliance rallied in their last attempt but came up short as the Peltz Co now sees their record drop to 12 and 6. Pitching for the Preps was starter Sonny Hernandez and reliever Tee Johnson. The Spartans ended the game with 9 hits and were led by AJ Garcia and Quinn Ferguson who tallied three each.
Action was quiet in the first and second frames with both clubs going scoreless. Alliance got a first inning hit by AJ Garcia and a second frame knock by Ferguson but both runners were left on the bases. The third is one the Preps would like to forget. Security First had 9 hits and 4 walks to score 12 times. The Regulators also used an rbi groundout and a wild pitch to pad their cushion. Alliance came back strong in the bottom of the inning. The Peltz Co loaded the bases on a walk to Cooper Gallas, a hit by Garcia, and Sonny Hernandez reaching after being hit by a pitch. Jace Jensen followed with a double that made it 12 to 2. A sac fly by Esia Trejo ensued. The scoring closed with an rbi double by Ferguson and the Preps down 12 to 4.
Security First failed to score in their final at bat while the Spartans put 4 more in the scorebook. With 2 outs, Gallas and Jensen walk and AJ Garcia had another hit. Trejo was next and his run scoring single made it 12 to 6. Alliance would also get rbi knocks by Ferguson and Silas Lilley-Stone to pull within 4 at 12 to 8. Gordon then recorded the final out and hung on for the 4 run victory.
