Round 2 for the Alliance Juniors at Sidney tournament featured a matchup against Bridgeport. Alliance got a three hit gem from pitcher Logan Freiberger to down the Bombers 9 to 0 on Saturday. Freiberger tossed all four frames and had 2 strikeouts. Teagen O’Gorman led the Peltz Co with three of their 9 hits. The Spartans jumped to a big lead and were never threatened.
Alliance went to the plate first and totaled 3 runs. Hits by O’Gorman and Miguel Galvan got the Juniors off to a super start. The Bombers went down scoreless in the home half. Frame #2 had the Peltz Co expand their margin to 6 with three more scores. Doubles by Jackson Devlin and Israel Garcia made it 4 to 0. Alliance then got rbi knocks by O’Gorman and Jace Jensen to make it 6 to 0. The Juniors would turn a double play in the bottom of the second in maintaining their advantage. After 2 innings of play, the Spartans were ahead 6 to 0.
Two more tallies in the top of the third put the BP deficit at 8. The Peltz Co received hits from Fletcher Moseman and O’Gorman to take an eight to zero lead. Freiberger had a 1-2-3 frame in the home half. Alliance’s last score came in the top of the fourth.
Jackson Shelmadine doubled and scored on an error by the Bombers. Post 29 failed to score on their last at bat. Final Alliance 9. Bridgeport 0
