Wednesday’s contest against Gering was the last home game for the Spartans Junior’s club. Alliance got the W over B&C 6 to 1. With the victory, the Peltz Co now has a 31 and 15 record on the year. Three Juniors-Jackson Shelmadine, Jaxon Poss, and Miguel Galvan- closed with 3 hits apiece. Alliance had 13 knocks for the affair. On the hill, the Spartans got five plus frames from starter Casyn Rodriguez in getting the win. Carson Stull threw the last 1.1 innings. Alliance scored 2 runs in the first, third, and fourth frames in downing their rivals.
Rodriguez put down B&C quickly in the opener while the Peltz Co plated 2. Knocks by Poss and Galvan along with a pair of Gering errors resulted in 2 scores. Inning 2 was a scoreless one for both squads. The Juniors got a second inning hit by Shelmadine but he was left on the bases. Alliance would turn a double play in frame 3 that kept the guests off the scoreboard. In the home half, the Spartans pushed 2 across. Good swings by Galvan, Rodriguez, Logan Freiberger, and Israel Garcia put the score at 4 to 0 heading to the fourth.
Frame #4 had B&C go without a tally. Alliance added to their margin with a 2 spot in the bottom of the inning. Tripling was Shelmadine to began the scoring. He would score run 5 after an RBI double by Poss. An rbi double by Jace Jensen followed as the Peltz Co went up 6 to 0. Both team failed to score in the 5th. Inning 6 was a scoreless frame for both clubs. Alliance got sixth inning knocks from Shelmadine, Poss, and Galvan but all players were stranded.
