Plenty of fireworks were on display Monday in a Junior’s game between Alliance and Chadron. Scoring in all three innings, it was the Peltz Co getting the victory 17 to 1. Alliance plated nine runs in the second in a matchup played in Chadron. The Spartans pounded out 11 hits on the night and were led by Teagen O’Gorman and Casyn Rodriguez who tallied 2 knocks each. Pitcher Fletcher Moseman tossed all three frames for Alliance and ended with three strikeouts.
Inning #1 had the Juniors take the early advantage with 4 scores. Jackson Shelmadine led off by reaching on a Post 12 error and would score after an RBI knock by O’Gorman. Up next was Miguel Galvan who singled. Both runners then crossed after a hit by Rodriguez who made it 3 to 0. A passed ball finished up the scoring with the Peltz Co ahead by 4. Moseman had a 1-2-3 effort in the bottom of the inning with a K. After one frame of action, the Juniors were ahead 4 to 0.
Any hope of a PVC comeback was turned away in the second. Alliance added to their margin with a 9 spot. The Spartans loaded the bases after a walk to Moseman, a hit batter by Jackson Devlin, and single by Shelmadine. RBI walks by O’Gorman and Galvan ensued as the Juniors went up by 6. Braeden Clarke then singled, making it 7 to 0. Following a rbi walk to Rodriguez, Alliance got a 2 run single by Israel Garcai. The scoring ended with hits by Devlin and O’Gorman. Alliance turned a double play in the bottom of the inning to keep the shutout alive. Heading to the third, the Peltz Co had a 13 to 0 lead.
Four more tallies in the top of the third added to the Spartan’s margin. Good swings by Rodriguez, Dixon Bair, and Quinn Ferguson put the host’s deficit at 16. The frame closed with an rbi walk by Braden Myers. Chadron pushed one across in the home half with Moseman recording 2 more strikeouts. Final Alliance 17 Chadron 1
