AMS Gets First Place Performances from Anders, Quick, and Bair

Six middle schools were on the track on Tuesday, competing at a meet in Scottsbluff. The season opening competition featured Alliance, Scottsbluff, Bayard, Gering, Chadron, and Torrington. No team scores were kept. For the Bulldogs, Alliance had three athletes who came home with first place awards. Eighth grade Remmi Anders won the girl’s 100 hurdle race with a time of 19.1. In the boy’s division, seventh grader Kendrick Quick was the gold medalist in the shot with a toss of 34’8. The Dogs got a double first place effort from Dixon Bair who won both the 100 and long jump. Bair’s time in winning the 100 was 12.1 while his leap of 17’9 was the winner in the long jump.
