Hamel and Homer by Nemnich Leads Seniors Past Bombers

Alliance played only one game on Friday in the Gillette tournament. What a game it was! Three scoreless innings by pitcher Kyler Hamel along with a monster second frame led the Peltz Co to a 19 to 0 win over Buckley. Alliance tallied 15 runs in the second in picking up the victory. Hamel had 2 Ks for the contest and gave up 2 hits in his frames of work. At the plate, the Spartans collected 11 hits with Carver Nemnich and Espen Lanik leading the way with 2 apiece. Nemnich nailed a home run in the top of the second.

Alliance went down in order in the first while Hamel kept the Bombers off the scoreboard in the bottom of the frame. Then came the second where the Peltz Co exploded for 15 tallies. Jaxson Esparza walked and Kobe Strom was hit by a pitch to set the stage for Nemnich who homered to give the Spartans a three run margin. Walks to Braeden Clarke and Mike Johnson ensued. Up next were Jaxon Poss and Kegan Rodriguez who both got hits that made it 6 to 0. Triples by Lanik and Esparza followed as the Alliance lead grew to 9. The scores kept coming with the Seniors getting knocks from Strom and Nemnich. A passed ball, a sacrifice fly by Lanik, and a 2 RBI triple by Nason Thompson ended the scoring with the Peltz Co up 15. In the home half, the Seniors turned a double play to keep the shutout in tack. Heading to the third, Alliance led 15 to 0.

Four more runs by the Spartans in the top of the third put the Bomber’s deficit at 19. Alliance got successful swings from Lexton Salcido, Johnson, and Lanik to extend their advantage. Hamel had a strikeout in the Bomber’s last at bat while allowing no scores. Final Alliance. 19. Buckley 0
