Homer by Fritzler Leads Seniors to 10 to 0 Win

Strong pitching and timely hitting lifted the Peltz Co Senior baseball club past the Junior team 10 to 0 in the first game of a doubleheader played in Alliance on Wednesday. Senior pitchers Lexton Salcido and and Nason Thompson held the Junior Spartans to 3 hits in this four inning match up. At the plate, the Seniors ended with 7 hits and were lead by 2 knocks each by Creighton Fritzler and Kegan Rodriguez. Fritlzer had a 2 run homer in the second inning to pace the offense. For the Juniors taking the mound were Carson Stull and Quinn Ferguson. The Spartans Juniors finished with 3 hits and were led by Jace Jensen who had 2.

Salcido had a 1-2-3 inning on the hill in the top of the first. The Seniors broke thru for 2 runs in the home half. Rodriguez reached on an error and scored on an RBI single by Braeden Clarke. Another miscue by the Juniors then made it 2 to 0 after one inning of action. A double by Jensen in the top of inning 2 was the highlight for the Juniors. Jensen was left on the bags. Six big tallies in the bottom of the inning kept the momentum on the side of the Seniors. Mike Johnson led off with a walk and advanced after after a hit by EJ Garcia was misplayed by the Juniors. A run scoring hit by Rodriguez ensued as the Spartans went up 3 to 0. Run 4 came after a sac fly Espen Lanik. Following another error by the Juniors, Fritzler 2 run bomb made it 7 to 0. The scoring ended with another tally by the Peltz Co Seniors thanks to an RBI triple by Salcido. Heading to the third, it was an 8 to 0 ball game.

A single by Casyn Rodriguez gave the Juniors in hope in the top of inning #3 but he was stranded. The Spartans extended their lead in the bottom of the frame with one more score. Johnson scored on an RBI double by Kegan Rodriguez. Another knock by Jensen in the top of the fourth started a potential rally by the Juniors. But a double play turned by Seniors foil the comeback. The contest came to a conclusion in the home half with one more tally by the Peltz Co Seniors. Hits by Tony Escamilla and Fritzler finish off the 10 to 0 victory.
