Hot Shots Race Past Preps

Alliance and Scottsbluff met Tuesday for a doubleheader played in Alliance. Westco came out swinging and defeated the Spartans 21 to 0 in the opener. With the loss, the Peltz Co drops to 11 and 4 for the season. It was a three inning contest where the Hot Shots scored 12 tallies in their last at bat in posting the win. The Preps closed with 2 hits with Cooper Galles and Esai Trejo getting one each. On the mound for the Spartans was starter Sonny Hernandez and relievers Trejo, Silas Lilley-Stone, and AJ Garcia.

Westco wasted little time, scoring six runs in the opening frame. The guests used five hits, a hit batter, a sac fly, and an RBI groundout to surge ahead by six. Alliance failed to score in the bottom of the inning. Three more tallies by the Hot Shots expanded their advantage. The Bluffs used three knocks along with hit by batter to take a 9 to 0 lead. In the home half, the Preps received a Gallas hit but he was left on the base paths. After two innings of action, the Peltz Co was behind 9 to 0.

Inning #3 had the visitors put up big numbers. The Hot Shots plated 12 runs using both timely hits and some walks to go ahead 21 to 0. In the Spartan’s last at bat, Alliance got a hit by Trejo. He was stranded and the contest came to an end with Scottsbluff getting the 21 to 0 victory.
