She was a devoted Christian who played the piano and organ in church when she was young, and she was a member of the United Methodist Church in Alliance.  Marlene actively worked for the Alliance community, volunteering at the Carnegie Arts Center and the Box Butte General Hospital, in addition to being a member of the P.E.O. Chapter AH, American Legion Auxiliary, and BBGH Auxiliary.  Marlene had endless energy and was full of joy and wit. She had a passion for life and loved nothing more than spending time surrounded by her family.  Marlene and her family were blessed to celebrate her 90th birthday together on New Years Eve 2021.
