By SHERRI FRY

The Alliance Mission Store has announced its 2021 Grant Recipients for its 14th Annual Grant Year. We have awarded $62,935.00 in grants for this year. Those receiving Grants this year are as follows:

ADOG (Dog park), Alliance Public Schools Foundation, ARC (Alliance Recreation Center), Alliance Spartans-Post 7, Alliance Wrestling Club, Area I OHD, Back pack Program, Best of the West Scholarship Pageant, Box Butte County 4-H Small Animal Committee, Box Butte County Junior Rodeo, Box Butte County Agricultural Society-Fair Board, Carnegie Arts Center, Church of God of Indian Mission, Community Table, Dobby’s Frontier Town, Hemingford Public Library, Highland Park Care Center Special Projects, KAB (Keep Alliance Beautiful), KAB Scavenger Hunt, KAB Community Garden, Ministerial Association, Panhandle Blocks-Quilts of Valor, Panhandle Public Health District Healthy Families Project, Santa’s Helpers, St. John’s Lutheran Piecemakers, The Invisible Crisis, and United Way of Western Nebraska.

Most of the applicants that applied this year were given grants. An important step for those applying for grants is to be sure you submit a form with the application describing how the current money will be spent and the amount of your total project and the amount you are requesting. Another very important fact about our grants is that we do not fund salaries for individuals even if you are the Coordinator for a group to help the community.
A very special thank you goes to the Community for your donations to the Mission Store and to our all volunteer Staff for sorting and pricing and keeping our store functioning. All money made through our store located at 203/205 Box Butte in Alliance goes into any repairs and upkeep of the store and then into grants for the community. Again, thanks to everyone for their support.
