Alliance’s Quinn Ferguson tossed a no hitter Wednesday night in an 11 to 1 victory over Ogallala. Ferguson struck out 7 in the four inning contest. The Prep club managed just 4 hits on the night but a six run second frame keyed the win. Ogallala pushed one across in the third, using an error and a sacrifice but was held hitless throughout. The contest was played in Alliance.
In the first, the guests were held scoreless while the Peltz Co plated two. Roy Torres walked and advanced after Logan Freiberger was hit by a pitch. The Spartans first tally came on an RBI hit by Dixon Bair. A passed ball then scored Alliance’s second run. Ferguson had three strikeouts in the top of the second. The Prep club’s big inning was the bottom of the second where the Spartans put 6 in the book. Knocks by Torres and Freiberger were the highlights of the inning. The Advisors has a couple of errors that aided in the scoring. Bair added a sacrifice fly and the affair went to the third with the Peltz Co in control at 8 to 0.
Ogallala got one back in the top of inning #3. A sac bunt made it 8 to 1. The Spartans came back with a score in the home half. Tee Johnson walked and eventually scored on Insurance Advisors wild pitch. Ferguson ended his no no by striking out the side in the top of the fourth. The Peltz Co finished the ball game with 2 runs in the bottom of the inning. Cooper Gallas walked and moved into scoring position after a hit by AJ Garcia. A passed ball and a wild pitch by Ogallala finished the contest with the Spartans posting the win 11 to 1.
