NSP, APD Respond to Crash North of Alliance

On January 12, the Alliance Police Department and the Nebraska State Patrol responded to a crash north of Alliance on Jan. 12, which resulted in injuries.

Cody Thomas, Public Relations Director with the Nebraska State Patrol explained that law enforcement received the report of a crash on Highway 385 near 25th Street at approximately 6:20 p.m. on Jan. 12.

“Investigation shows that a Hummer H3 was southbound on Highway 385 when it crossed the center line and struck a northbound Chevrolet Suburban,” said Thomas. “The Suburban had six occupants at the time of the crash. The driver, Rosemary Lopez, 51, of Alliance, was transported to Box Butte General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The other occupants suffered minor injuries at most and were not transported to the hospital. The driver of the Hummer was Kalen Nedella, 24, of Crawford was transported to Regional West Medical Center with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries A third vehicle, a Honda Pilot struck debris from the crash and suffered damage as well.”

Thomas said the Nebraska State Patrol has recommended charges of driving under the influence for Nedella, based on the investigation.
