A three run inside the park home run by Spartan Tanner Salcido highlighted an Alliance 14 to 1 win over Chadron on Tuesday. Alliance hosted the event. The Juniors used an 8 run third inning in getting the win over PVC. Pacing the Spartans on offense was Miguel Galvan who had 3 of the Alliance’s 10 hits. Starter Teagen O’Gorman tossed 2 hit ball for three frames while Jackson Devlin hurled the last inning and had three strikeouts.
Post 12 didn’t score in the opener. Alliance, though, did have success. The Peltz Co plated 3 runs. Galvan began things with a hit and scored the Spartans first tally. A 2 run double by Creighton Fritzler ended the inning as the Juniors went up 3 to 0. Chadron closed the gap with a score in the top of the second but three more Spartan tallies in the home half made it 6 to 1. Braeden Clarke had a single to start the scoring. He scored the Junior’s fourth run after an RBI hit by Jackson Shelmadine. A sacrifice fly by O’Gorman followed, making it 5 to 1. Alliance’s last score came on an RBI swing by Galvan. Heading to the third, the Peltz Co was up by 5.
Momentum stayed with the Spartans inning #3. An Alliance double play in the top kept PVC off the board. The Juniors then plated 8 in the last of the frame. Fritzler tripled to ignite the rally. Logan Freiberger was next and he reached after being hit by a pitch. Both runners then crossed on an RBI knock by Clarke. A steal of home by Clarke and a passed ball then made the board read 10 to 1. After a walk by O’Gorman and a hit by Galvan, Salcido’s three run homer gave the Peltz Co a 12 run cushion. The inning came to a close with an RBI double by Freiberger. Three Ks by Devlin ended the affair in the top of the fourth.
