Kimball came to town on Thursday for doubleheader action against the Alliance Prep club. Game one was a roller coaster contest with the hosts getting the win 10 to 8. Alliance scored 6 times in their last at bat in getting their 14th W on the year. Esai Trejo finish the battle with a game high 2 hits including a big double in the bottom of the fourth. On the mound for the Peltz Co was Quinn Ferguson who a complete game with 5 strikeouts. The Preps ended the game with 6 knocks.
In the opener, Ferguson registered 2 strikeout but the guests tallied 5 runs. A big three run bagger by Kimball put the Spartans in the hole. Alliance came back with one tally in the home half. Silas Lilley-Stone walked and scored on an RBI groundout by Jace Jensen. Kimball failed to score in the second while the Peltz Co got one. A hit by Ferguson keyed the scoring. Heading into the third, the Spartans were down 5 to 2.
Both squads twice in inning #3. Behind by 5 again, the Prep put 2 on the board. A hit by AJ Garcia was followed by an error by the visitors. Next up was Trejo who doubled in 2 runs. In the top of the fourth, Kimball scored once as the Peltz Co went down 8 to 4. Three big knocks in the home half then gave the Spartans the advantage. The comeback began with both Ferguson and Carson Stroud reaching on errors by Kimball. An rbi bunt by Sonny Hernandez made it a three run ball game. Alliance then got hits by Navi Singh and Lilley-Stone to continue the rally. With the bases loaded, Trejo ended the scoring with a 3 run double. Down 2, the guests couldn’t score in the last attempt in the top of the fifth. Final Preps 10. Kimball 8
