Seconds by Benda and Haas Pace Hemingford at Best of the West

Scottsbluff’s Bearcat Stadium was the setting Tuesday for the annual Best of the West track Meet. Hemingford had seven athletes who qualified. Leading the charge for the Bobcats were junior Austin Benda and sophomore Jayce Haas. Benda had a personal best 10:03 in taking second in the two mile. In the 200, Haas was a silver medalist with a time of 23.1. Senior Keirith Yale ended fourth in the high jump with a leap of 5’11. Hemingford’s mile relay took fifth with members: Jayce Haas, Lucas Sulzbach, Tayten Haas, and Yale. Their time was 3:35. Freshman Fletcher Moseman had a personal best in the 2 mile (10:38) in ending sixth. Eli Hunter finished ninth in the pole vault with a mark of 11’0. Placing tenth in the long jump was Jayce Haas with a leap of 19’3.
