Senior Women’s Golf Competes in Mitchell

The Panhandle Senior Women’s Golf Association played Scenic Knolls at Mitchell on July 26, with 39 ladies competing on hot, summer day.

Taking first place with a score of 70 gross/57.88 net and three birdies was Peggy Wagner, Dee Vogel and Tami Pierce. In second place was the team of Jane Faber, Penny Yekel, Sally Plover and Sylvia Debus with two birdies and a score of 74 gross/60.97 net. The team of Terry Espinoza, Jill Lenz, Joy Eberhardt and Sue Bringelson placed third with a score of 76 gross/62.46 net and two birdies. The fourth place team of Gail Magers, Sharon Nuss, Kris DeVries and Rose Jacoby scored 76 gross/62.88 net and three birdies.

Flag prizes were awarded as follows: Longest Drive “A” Player – Jane Faber, Longest Drive “B” Player – Dee Vogel, Longest Drive “C” Player – Tami Pierce and Longest Drive “D” Player – Audrey Nelson. Jane Faber and Joy Eberhardt won Longest Putt flags. Marsha Neifert was closest to the pin on the drive for Hole #5. Lisa Racine was closest to the water on Hole #4 without going in. Tami Pierce was closest to the pin on 3rd shot at Hole #6, and Gina Briggs was closest to the pin on the drive on Hole #8.

Our next outing will be August 9 at Hillside Golf Course in Sidney.
