Senior Women’s Golf Hits the Links in Gering

The Panhandle Senior Women’s Golf Association hit the links at Monument Shadows in Gering on Aug. 23, with 39 ladies competing on hot, summer day.

The competition was close. Taking first place, with a score of 73 gross/61.22 net and one birdie, was Terry Espinoza, Sharon Nuss, Jane Holechek and Patty Schaneman. In second place, scoring three birdies with two of them hole outs, was the team of Judy Paradeis, Terry Grosz, Tami Pierce and Joy Eberhardt with a score of 73 gross/61.38 net. The team of Grace Brisby, Londa Maron, Betty Landercasper and Ellen Lierk placed third, with a score of 74 gross/61.86 net and one birdie. The fourth place team of Connie Booth, Vicky Dimas, Suzy Ernest and Pam Adams scored 74 gross/61.95 net, including three birdies.

Flag prizes were awarded as follows: Longest Drive “A” Player – Sue Williams, Longest Drive “B” Player – Terry Grosz, Longest Drive “C” Player – Tami Pierce and Longest Drive “D” Player – Joy Eberhardt. On Hole #3, Sue Williams had the closest chip shot. Sylvia Debus (Hole #5) and Claudia Benda (Hole #14) won longest putt flags. Londa Maron and Carole Lain were closest to the pin on the drive for Holes 7 & 13. Vicky Dimas was closest to the water on Hole #18 without going in.

Our next outing will be Sept. 13 at Kimball.
