Seniors Fly Past Blue Jays 9 to 1

Weekend action ended in Elkhorn on Saturday with Alliance taking on Ashland. A big performance at the plate by Creighton Fritzler powered the Peltz Co past Post 129 9 to 1. Fritzler finished with 3 of the Spartan’s 10 hits. Alliance got a nice effort on the hill by starter Espen Lanik and reliever Lexton Salcido in getting their 16th win on the year. The duo held the Blue Jays to just one hit for the contest. Alliance grabbed a big lead early on and cruised to the victory.

With 5 tallies in the top of the first, the Seniors took control. An rbi hit by Nason Thompson made it 1 to 0. The frame was highlighted by a 3 run double off the bat of Spartan Jaxson Esparza. Alliance then got a hit by Braeden Clarke to increase their margin. Post 129 scored one in the home half. Heading to the second, the Peltz Co was up by 4.

Bats again were hot for the Spartans in inning #2. Alliance scored three times to extend their advantage to 7. Knocks by Tony Escamilla and Kobe Strom started the scoring. An rbi hit by Fritzler followed as the Seniors went ahead 6 to 1. RBI walks ensued by Clarke and Poss that made the scoreboard read Alliance 8 Ashland 1. Lanik put down the Jays in order in the home half. Frames 3 and 4 were scoreless ones for both clubs. Alliance got third inning hits from Strom, Thompson, and Fritzler but failed to score. In the fifth, the Peltz Co got an RBI knock from Fritzler to end the scoring.
