Sox End Cheyenne Tournament with Loss to Sluggers

Mitchell’s Midwest Sluggers slipped past the Alliance Blue Sox 17 to 12 on the Sunday. Seven runs in their last at bat by Midwest powered the Sluggers to the win. The contest finished the tourney in Cheyenne for the Sox. Alliance ended with a 2 and 3 record for the 2 day event. On O, the Peltz Co pounded out 11 hits and were led by Bodee Barber, Eugenio Lopez, and Slade Harris who had 2 each. Tossing for the Sox was starter Marshall Moseman and Barber.

Frame one action had the Sluggers score twice while the Peltz Co plated three tallies. Four hits by Alliance gave the Blue Sox a brief lead. Knocks off the bats of Moseman, Canton Devlin, Lopez, and Harris resulted in the Peltz Co going up by one. In the second, Mitchell retook the lead with 2 scores. A hit by Sox Von Krejci in the home half gave Alliance hope but he was left on the bags. With 2 innings in the scorebook, Alliance was behind 4 to 3.

Scores were plentiful in the third. The Sluggers had 6 tallies in the frame. Down 10 to 3, the Peltz Co started a comeback with 4 in the last of the third. A hit by Barber began the scoring. Alliance then got RBI swings by Zeke Dean and Lopez to get close. Hits then from Harris and Parks Sylvester ensued as the Sox made it a 10 to 7 affair. Mitchell again went on the offensive in their last attempt in the top of the 4th. Midwest totaled 7 scores to go up by 10. In the home half, the Peltz Co put together a solid frame with 5 tallies. It was highlighted by a 2 run double by Barber. Midwest was able to end the rally and get the victory 17 to 12.
