Game four of the Cheyenne tournament had the Blue Sox facing off against the Carbon Valley Crash. Alliance took down CVC 19 to 3 for their tenth W on the season. The game was played on Sunday. Marshall Moseman led the offense with 3 of Alliance’s 14 hits. Starter Zeke Dean went the first three innings, had no walks, and finished with 4 strikeouts. Bodee Barber tossed the last frame. An eight run second inning by the Sox put the game away.
Three Alliance knocks in the first frame resulted in 4 tallies. A double by Moseman began the scoring. He later scored on a wild pitch. After a walk to Canton Devlin, Dean helped his cause with an RBI hit. Eugenio Lopez was next and his hit scored Dean. The scoring finished with an RBI groundout by Slade Harris. Carbon scored twice in the home half and the game went to the second with the Peltz Co up by 2.
Offense for the Sox was solid in inning #2. Alliance plated 8 tallies to go ahead by 10. Early hits by Cameron Walker and Von Krejci for the scoring started. Alliance then received rbi walks by Levi Escamilla and Grady Mulhern to increase their advantage. More knocks ensued by Moseman, Devlin, and Harris. When the smoke cleared, the Sox took a 12 to 2 lead. The Crash scored once in the bottom of the second. Alliance got one in the top of frame #3. Krejci doubled and cross the plate after a CVC error. In the last of the third, Dean put down the Crash in order to maintain the Sox lead.
Up by 10, the Peltz Co expanded its lead in their last at bat in the fourth. Hits by Barber, Moseman, and Devlin led the O. Down the stretch, knocks by Harris and Escamilla gave the Blue Sox a comfortable margin. The Crash went down silently in their last at bat in the bottom of the 4th. Final. Blue Sox 19. Crash 3
