This and That

I ran across these sayings in a drawer recently. This is the season of just doing whatever is put in front of us, so maybe you’ll find a gem that walks you through your day.

“Live in each season as it passes…resign yourself to the influences of each”

Thoreau

Look at your own options instead of the options open to other people.

Do not search for the truth. Only cease to cherish opinions.

It’s always something, but it doesn’t always have to have your name on it.

Clarity will come of its own accord.

There is no substitute for accepting reality.

Answered prayers deliver us back to our own hand.

The trouble with the rat race is that even if you win, you’re still a rat.

Fear only serves to impair my judgement today.

Try to make serenity more important than any circumstance you may encounter.

When I don’t know what to do, God does. I can worry if I want, but I don’t need to.

I’m not your judge. Time is.

Earthly souls ebb and flow in sorrow and joy, just as seasons of the natural world move through the cycle of life. Embrace the ebb.

We are asleep to our Divinity. We have no idea of the countless lives we touch.

My security cannot be based on learning the rules.

Anytime you have more than you need, you have abundance.

When you imagine, imagine the best that might be. What harm can it do?

Don’t buy a ticket to the family circus. Or any other circus. And don’t go in on someone else’s dime.

Let go of expectations. Leave room to be surprised.

Be willing to have less than you have, in order to do what you should.

Stay in the stillness of your discomfort.

Don’t look down.

Cherish the things time has touched.

You’ll always go where you look.

You don’t have time for that.

Only what happens now, happens later.

Interrupt whatever interrupts your life.

My contentment is my responsibility.

Well, that’s enough to chew on for quite a while. Pick one a day for the rest of your summer and prepare to be surprised. What harm can it do?
