Wranglers Take Down Juniors

Contest #2 of the Fort Morgan baseball tournament had the Alliance Juniors taking on the Fort Morgan Wranglers. Spartan bats were silenced throughout as the Peltz Co lost 6 to 1. Alliance was held to just 2 hits in a ball game played on Friday. Four Juniors took the hill with starter Kyler Hamel going 3.2 frames. Also tossing were: Jackson Devlin, Israel Garcia, and Carson Stull .

Alliance was up first and pushed one across. A sac fly by Tanner Salcido scored Garcia who reached on an error. Fort Morgan was denied any scores in the bottom of the inning. Frame #2 was a scoreless one for both squad. With 2 innings in the book, the Peltz Co held a 1 to 0 advantage.

Two runs in the bottom of the third gave the Wranglers their first lead. The Spartans did turn a double play to keep their deficit at 1. A knock by Alliance’s Miguel Galvan gave the guests hope in the fourth but he was left on the sacks. Fort Morgan extended their margin with 2 more tallies in the bottom of the inning. In the fifth, the Juniors again went scoreless while the Wranglers were also turned away thanks to another twin killing by the Alliance defense.

Inning #6 again was a quiet one for the Peltz Co. Fort Morgan increased its lead with 2 more in the home half. Down 6 to 1, the Spartans had one more chance in the top of the 7th. Jace Jensen had a hit but a double play by the Wranglers ended the game. Final. Fort Morgan 6
