Western Conference Champs for AHS: Bailey, Saka, Salcido, and Mile Relay

A nice crowd was on hand Friday to watch the Western Conference track meet. Bulldog Stadium hosted the event as 5 teams took to the track. With 139 points, it was the Sidney winning the team trophy in the girl’s competition with Gering finishing second with 123 points. Chadron scored 105 points and was third. Alliance posted 37 points which was good for fifth. Scottsbluff was the winner on the boy’s side with 185 tallies. Sidney was the runner up with 125 while the Bulldogs from Alliance ended third with 93 points.

Alliance had four champs on the day. Junior Brooke Bailey won the girl’s 400 with a time of 1:02. Alliance received a first place effort from junior Asher Saka who won the 2 mile with a time of 10:47. Sophomore Tanner Salcido was the winner in the triple jump with a leap of 42’9. AHS took the gold in the boy’s mile relay with a time of 3:33. Members: Jackson Shelmadine, Jackson Devlin, Devin Graham, and Eddie Red Nest. Winning first in the unified division for the Dogs were: Riley Best, Brinlee Lanik, and Alexis Libsack.
