Accident on Highway 385 Sends One to Hospital

A two-vehicle accident on Highway 385, near West Third Street sent one person to the hospital on June 20.

According to Lieutenant Cody Buskirk with the Alliance Police Department, at approximately 11:15 a.m. on June 20, police responded to a two vehicle accident.

Buskirk said that during the investigation, officers learned that a 2003 Toyota Sequoia, driven by Christopher Chipperfield, of Alliance, was traveling northbound on Highway 385 while a 2015 Ford F150 hauling a camper, occupied by Thomas and Ellen White, of Ashby, was southbound.

Buskirk noted witnesses reported Chipperfield’s vehicle crossed the centerline and collided with the vehicle.

Chipperfield was transported to Box Butte General Hospital to be treated for injuries, Buskirk noted.

“Charges against Chipperfield were recommended to the Box Butte County Attorney’s Office for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, Willful Reckless Driving, and Driving Left of Center,” said Buskirk.
