Alliance Ends Tournament With Loss to Outlaws

A successful weekend closed for the Alliance Aces with a 14 to 0 defeat at the hands of the Outlaws. Sidney played host for the tourney which began on Friday. Alliance had two big wins on Saturday before falling in the opener on Sunday. The Outlaws pulled away with 8 runs in their last at bat in the fourth inning to advance to the championship contest. Joseph Vela was the starter and went three frames while striking out 8. Vincent Freeze also tossed for the Aces. Alliance was held to just 2 hits for the game.

Three Vela Ks in the top of the first gave the Aces hope. Alliance got hits in the home half from Landon Gentleman and Vela. Both runners were unfortunately stranded. The Outlaws put one in the book in the second while the Aces failed to score. Inning #3 was big for the Outlaws as Alliance gave up 5 scores. Down 6 to 0, the Aces went down in order in the bottom of the third. With three frames in the book, Alliance was down by 6.

The Outlaws put the game away with 8 scores in the top of the fourth. Using a couple of hits, a few walks, and three wild pitches, the Outlaws increased their advantage to 14.
