The Music Department at Valley City State University will be hosting the senior recital of Rachel Baker, horn, on Saturday, October 1 at 7:30 p.m. This program will contain music by Franz Strauss, Eric Ewazen, Johann Quantz, and Wolfgang Mozart. Baker will be accompanied by Sarah Larsen on piano.
From Alliance, Baker is a senior Music Education major. For horn lessons, she studies under Dr. Kenneth Jimenez. During her time with the VCSU Music Department, she has participated in Concert Band, Concert Choir, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, and NAfME. Baker will student teach in the spring semester and graduate in May of 2023. After graduation, she plans to get a job teaching music in the area.
The recital will be held in the concert hall at the Center for the Fine Arts with a reception to be held in the lobby afterward. Everyone is cordially invited to attend this recital; it is free to the public. This recital will also be livestreamed on the Valley City State University Music’s YouTube and Facebook pages under the site “Rachel Baker Senior Recital”.
