Dawgs Topple Sox

Tuesday’s baseball action had the Peltz Co Blue Sox traveling to Gering for a doubleheader with the Top Dawgs. Game 1 went to the hosts. Alliance fell 11 to 2. The Sox finished with 2 hits. Pitching for Alliance were starter Marshall Moseman and Slade Harris. Gering scored 6 times in the bottom of the third in getting the victory.

Alliance scored twice in the opening inning. Walks to Von Krejci, Bodee Barber, and Canton Devlin along with an error and a wild pitch made it a 2 to 0 ball game. Gering answered back with 4 tallies in the home half. Moseman recorded two strikeouts in the frame. The hosts used a couple of hits to go up 4 to 2 heading to the second.

Eugenio Lopez would have a hit for the Sox in the second but failed to score. Gering also failed to get on the board in the home half as Moseman had 2 more K’s. The bats for Alliance again were cold in the third while the Dawgs added to their advantage with 6 scores in the bottom of the frame. Four knocks by the Top Dawgs plus a few miscues by the Sox made it a 10 to 2 contest heading to the fourth.

In inning #4, the Peltz Co got a single by Moseman but no scores. Gering scored once and the affair went to the fifth with Alliance down 11 to 2. Alliance was denied any runs in their last at bat. Final
