A tribute to our mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Minnie was born to Joseph Trojan and Caroline Kriz, on May 17th, 1920.

Minnie was one of ten children, eight brothers and one sister. During World War II, six of her brothers served in the war and they all came home. Number seven was her lucky number. She was born on May 17th, married in 1947 on April 7th at the age of 27. She was on the election board, member of Angora Hill Toppers, was the Superintendent for the Methodist Church that was held in Angora in the clubhouse and was also a member of the Panhandle Czech’s. Minnie was known for her cooking and baking. Her pies at the local brandings were fought over. Minnie’s specialties were kolaches, potato dumplings, and gravy. Her canned sauerkraut was wanted by all! She was proud to be a farmer/rancher’s wife; proud of her Czech heritage of which she passed on to her children and grandchildren. Along with the Czech language, customs, and polka dances. Minnie always had a large garden, chickens, and helped her husband with the cattle and haying. She married Stanley F. Krul, April 7th, 1947. They raised their family, Stan Jr., Richard, and Connie on the homeplace seven miles east of Angora. Minnie continued living there until December of this year. Minnie’s cute accent and ways of doing things will always be remembered. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, friend, and grandmother. We will forever cherish her memory. You are and always will be “The wind beneath our wings.”
