On Monday Scottsbluff hosted their annual Junior High Meet with six teams taking part. Winning the 7th grade boy’s division were the Alliance Bulldogs who totaled 160 points. Gering was second with 114 points. Scottsbluff won the boy’s 8th grade competition with 143 points while Chadron was the runner up with91 points. The Alliance 8th grade was third with 83 points.
The boys combined score of 243 was first overall with the Bluffs second with a combined score of 185. On the girl’s side Scottsbluff was first in the 8th division with 162 points with Gering second with 81. AMS was fifth in the eighth level with 57 points. Gering won the girl’s seventh grade team title with124 with Chadron second with 99.
The Alliance Middle School 7th grade squad tallied 46 points for sixth. Bringing home the gold for the girls was the 400 relay in the seventh grade division with team members: Brinlee Lanik Amilya Lopez Alexis Solis and Myleigh Simmons.
For the boys AMS had first place performances in 7 events. Top placer was Abel Moreno had both hurdle races in the seventh grade division. Other gold medalists were Wyatt Barthel Hardy in the 100, Jadon Guerra in the discus, Traysn Best in the high jump, Kyler Hamel in the triple jump, and the seventh grade boys in the mile relay. The relay members were: Canden Marsteller Ethan Bates Casyn Nelson and Cormic Stark. Their time was 4:47.
