On Oct. 21, an accident west of Alliance claimed the life of a Bayard man, and sent two others to the hospital.
According to Cody Thomas, Public Relations Director with the Nebraska State Patrol, the accident occurred 10 miles west of Alliance on Otoe Road at approximately 11:05 a.m.
“Preliminary investigation shows that the driver of the semi lost control of the vehicle while reaching for something,” said Thomas. “The semi rolled and the two passengers were ejected.”
Santos Garza, 53, of Bayard, was pronounced dead at the scene. Bridgett Timmons, 39, of Bayard, and the driver, Eujenio Perez, 59, of Scottsbluff, were both transported to Regional West Hospital in Scottsbluff with serious injuries.
