Sharline M. Haney Obituary

Sharline M. Haney, 84, of Hyannis, passed away Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at Swedish Medical Center in Englewood, CO.

She was born on April 22, 1939 in Alliance, NE to Burdette and Evelyn (Gentry) Hayward of Hyannis.  She was raised on the family ranch north of Hyannis and was a graduate of Hyannis High School.  Sharline then attended Colorado Women’s College for 1 year before returning to Hyannis.

On June 7, 1958 she was united in marriage to Dean A. Haney at the UCC Church in Hyannis.  They lived their life together on the family ranch and to this union 2 sons, Dean and Jay were born. 

Sharline loved the ranch life and everything that went along with it from ranch work to being an exceptional cook for her family and ranch workers. She was a member of the National Old Timers Rodeo Association and was honored to serve a year as their Queen in 1986.  She was also an active member of the Hyannis Congregational Church where she was the church organist and pianist and a member of Eastern Star.  In addition to her work on her ranch she served as Clerk Magistrate for Grant County Court for many years in addition to operating her own abstract company. 

Her survivors include her sons and their wives, Dean and Christie Haney and Jay and Alexa Haney of Hyannis, her grandchildren, Ty (Amber) Haney, Jason Haney, Tara (Luke) Boeser, Shelby Haney and Ethan Haney and her great-grandchildren, Avery, Tate, Bria and Piper Boeser.  She is also survived by her brothers and sisters, Chris (Darla) Brennemann, Holly (Stephen) Dodds, Kim (Chris) Abbott, Linda Hayward, Ed Hayward and Bonnie Hayward.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents who raised her, Gladys and Carver Gentry, her father, Burdette Hayward, her mother, Evelyn (Gentry) Brennemann and her brother, Will Brennemann.

Funeral services were Thursday, December 28, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at the Hyannis Congregational Church.  Pastor Deb Johndreau will officiate and burial was in the Hyannis Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to Hyannis Congregational Church.
