Track action on Monday had the Hemingford middle school track clubs at Bayard. Paced by a 2 first place effort by Cooper Gallas, the Bobcat boy’s team ended third overall with 81 points. Gallas won both the 100 and 200 hurdle race and was a member of the second place 400 relay. The Cats also got a gold medal performance from Zane Frost who won the 800. Frost and Galles along with Silas Lilley-Stone and Rye Jespersen made up the 4 X 100 squad. Jespersen was silver medalist in the discus while also taking home second in both hurdle races was Dallas Woltman. Ogallala won the boy’s team title with 110 points with Mitchell taking second with 95.
Mitchell was first in the girl’s division with 93. Ogallala had 89 points for second with St. Agnes ending third with 80 tallies. Hemingford finished with 32 points good for ninth overall. Fifteen teams took part. The Lady Cats had a pair of fourth place finishers to lead the scoring. Emerson Horstman placed 4th in the 200. Also ending fourth was the Cat 400 relay team.
